This Copyright Policy establishes AskSome.One's approach to intellectual property rights, copyright protection, and procedures for addressing copyright infringement. AskSome.One respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects all Users to do the same.

This Policy applies to:

- All User-generated content posted on AskSome.One (descriptions, applications, feedback, reviews)

- All platform content (design, software, algorithms)

- Third-party content linked or referenced on AskSome.One

- Recordings, transcripts, and AI-generated content derived from sessions

2. ASKSOME.ONE PLATFORM INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

2.1 PLATFORM OWNERSHIP

All rights, title, and interest in the AskSome.One platform are owned exclusively by AskSome.One and its licensors. This includes:

- Software and Code: The mobile application (iOS/Android), website, backend systems

- Algorithms and Technology: Matching algorithms, AI models, recommendation engines

- Design Elements: User interface, graphics, layouts, color schemes, typography

- Content: Help documentation, tutorials, FAQs, marketing materials

- Trademarks and Logos: "AskSome.One," logos, brand marks

2.2 AUTHORIZED USE LICENSE

AskSome.One grants Users a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the platform solely to:

- Post Advice Requests (Seekers)

- Apply to Advice Requests and provide advice (Advisers)

- Communicate with other Users

- Access session recordings and transcripts

This license does NOT permit:

- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or extracting the code

- Copying or duplicating platform features

- Creating derivative works based on the platform

- Reselling or redistributing the platform

- Removing or obscuring copyright notices or proprietary markings

2.3 NO OWNERSHIP TRANSFER

Using AskSome.One does not transfer any ownership or intellectual property rights to the User. All platform IP remains exclusively owned by AskSome.One.

3. USER-GENERATED CONTENT AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

3.1 USER CONTENT OWNERSHIP

Users retain ownership of original content they create, including:

- Advice Request descriptions and titles

- Application letters and proposals

- Feedback, reviews, and ratings

- Original advice and insights provided during sessions

- Profile bio and expertise descriptions

3.2 LICENSE GRANTED TO ASKSOME.ONE

BY POSTING CONTENT ON ASKSOME.ONE, YOU AUTOMATICALLY GRANT ASKSOME.ONE A WORLDWIDE, NON-EXCLUSIVE, ROYALTY-FREE, PERPETUAL, IRREVOCABLE LICENSE TO:

- Use, display, and reproduce your content on the platform

- Create derivative works based on your content (e.g., AI summaries)

- Modify or adapt your content

- Publish or distribute your content

- Use your content for platform improvement and analytics

- Use anonymized or de-identified content for AI training

- Use content in marketing materials (with anonymization)

THIS LICENSE IS IRREVOCABLE. Even if you delete your Account or remove content, AskSome.One retains the right to use it under this license.

3.3 EXAMPLES OF LICENSED USES

- Session Summaries: AskSome.One creates AI-generated summaries from your session; these summaries are based on your User Content

- Anonymized Analytics: AskSome.One analyzes anonymized content patterns to improve matching algorithms

- AI Model Training: AskSome.One may use de-identified session content to train AI models

- Dispute Resolution: Content is used to investigate complaints and disputes

3.4 LIMITATIONS ON LICENSE

AskSome.One will NOT:

- Publish your full name or personally identifiable information with your content (except as necessary for the platform)

- Sell your content to third parties

- Use your content in a way that violates your privacy (though transcripts are retained per Privacy Policy)

- Use your personal advice to promote competing services without attribution

4. THIRD-PARTY CONTENT AND COPYRIGHT

4.1 USER RESPONSIBILITY

Users are solely responsible for ensuring that:

- All content they post is original or properly licensed

- All content does not infringe on third-party copyrights or intellectual property

- Any third-party material included in content is used with permission or under fair use

- No content violates trademark, patent, or trade secret rights

4.2 THIRD-PARTY COPYRIGHT NOTICE

If User Content contains copyrighted material belonging to third parties (e.g., quoted text, images, graphics), Users must:

- Clearly attribute the source

- Obtain necessary permissions or licenses

- Rely on fair use doctrine where applicable

4.3 FAIR USE DOCTRINE

Limited use of copyrighted material may be permitted under fair use, including:

- Brief quotes from published works (with attribution)

- Small excerpts from news articles or research (with context and source)

- Properly credited material from public domain sources

ADVISERS AND SEEKERS MUST ENSURE THAT ANY COPYRIGHTED CONTENT IN ADVICE SESSIONS IS USED APPROPRIATELY AND FOLLOWS FAIR USE GUIDELINES.

4.4 PUBLIC DOMAIN CONTENT

Content in the public domain (government publications, expired copyrights, etc.) may be used freely, though proper attribution is appreciated.

5. COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT REPORTING

5.1 WHEN TO REPORT

AskSome.One will take the following content down or investigate if it appears to infringe copyright:

- Verbatim copying of substantial portions of copyrighted works

- Reproduction of full copyrighted materials without permission

- Use of copyrighted images, videos, or artwork without license

- Derivative works that compete with the original copyrighted work

- Software code copied from open-source or proprietary sources

5.2 DMCA COMPLIANCE

AskSome.One complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and similar copyright laws in other jurisdictions. Copyright owners or their authorized agents may submit infringement notices per the process below.

5.3 NOTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

6. Accuracy Statement: A statement under penalty of perjury that the information in your notice is accurate

7. Signature: Your physical or electronic signature

5.5 ASKSOME.ONE RESPONSE

Upon receipt of a valid DMCA notice, AskSome.One will:

1. VERIFY the notice contains required information

2. INVESTIGATE whether the claim is meritorious

3. NOTIFY the User who posted the content

4. REMOVE OR DISABLE access to the infringing content (if valid) within 10-14 business days

5. NOTIFY RELEVANT PARTIES of the removal action

6. COUNTER-NOTIFICATION AND DISPUTE PROCESS

6.1 COUNTER-NOTIFICATION RIGHT

If your content is removed based on a copyright claim, and you believe the claim is incorrect or the use qualifies as fair use, you may submit a Counter-Notification.

6.2 COUNTER-NOTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

The counter-notification must include:

1. Your Identification: Name, address, phone number, email

2. Content Identification: Description of the content that was removed, including original URL(s)

3. Statement Under Penalty of Perjury:

- You have received notice of removal

- You have a good faith belief that the content was removed in error

- You have a good faith belief that the use qualifies as fair use or you have permission from copyright holder

4. Consent to Jurisdiction: You consent to jurisdiction of federal court in your district

5. Signature: Physical or electronic signature

6.3 COUNTER-NOTIFICATION SUBMISSION

Counter-notifications should be sent to:

6.4 REINSTATEMENT PROCESS

If a valid Counter-Notification is received:

1. AskSome.One will notify the copyright claimant of the counter-notification

2. If the copyright claimant does not pursue legal action, AskSome.One will reinstate the content within 10-14 business days

3. If legal action is commenced, content remains removed pending court decision

7. REPEAT INFRINGERS

7.1 TERMINATION POLICY

AskSome.One will terminate the Accounts of Users determined to be repeat copyright infringers. A User is considered a repeat infringer if:

- Their Account has been subject to two or more valid copyright removal notices within 12 months, OR

- They have submitted counter-notifications that were found to be in bad faith, OR

- They have engaged in patterns of copyright infringement

7.2 TERMINATION PROCEDURE

Upon determination of repeat infringement:

1. AskSome.One sends a final notice to the User

2. Account is suspended for 7 days pending appeal

3. If no successful appeal, Account is permanently terminated

4. User is banned from creating new Accounts

7.3 APPEALS

Users terminated for repeat infringement may appeal to legal@asksome.one within 14 days with evidence that:

- The notices were submitted in bad faith, or

- Removal decisions were made in error

8. ATTRIBUTION AND CREDIT REQUIREMENTS

8.1 WHEN ATTRIBUTION IS REQUIRED

If you use any copyrighted material, open-source software, or third-party content, you must:

- Provide clear attribution to the original creator/source

- Include author name, source URL, and license (if applicable)

- Indicate whether changes were made to the material

8.2 ATTRIBUTION FORMAT

The AskSome.One name, logo, and distinctive branding are trademarks owned exclusively by AskSome.One. Users may not:

- Use the AskSome.One trademark in domain names or business names

- Imply endorsement by AskSome.One

- Use similar marks that risk confusion

- Register AskSome.One-related domain names or social media handles

9.2 LIMITED USE PERMISSION

AskSome.One may grant limited permission to use its trademarks for:

- Referring to sessions ("I received advice through AskSome.One")

- Marketing integration with proper attribution

- Referral programs (see partnership guidelines)

9.3 USER AND ADVISER NAMES

Users may not adopt names that:

- Include "AskSome.One" or similar marks

- Impersonate AskSome.One staff

- Imply official status or endorsement

- Infringe on third-party trademarks

10. PATENT POLICY

10.1 NO PATENT LICENSE

Nothing in this Policy grants Users any license to AskSome.One patents. AskSome.One retains all patent rights.

10.2 USER PATENTS

If Users disclose any inventions, methods, or processes to AskSome.One or Advisers:

- AskSome.One does not accept responsibility for protecting user inventions

- Users should file patent applications before public disclosure on AskSome.One

- AskSome.One may use disclosed methods for platform improvement (subject to license granted under Section 3.2)

- Share proprietary AskSome.One information publicly

- Attempt to access non-public platform code or data

11.2 USER CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION

If Advisers receive confidential business information from Seekers during advice sessions:

- That information should not be shared with third parties

- That information should not be used for competitive purposes

- Advisers must respect non-disclosure obligations if mentioned

12. LICENSED CONTENT AND LINKS

12.1 LINKS TO THIRD-PARTY CONTENT

AskSome.One may link to third-party websites, articles, or resources. Linking to content does NOT imply:

- Endorsement of that content

- Ownership or copyright of that content

- Agreement with content

- Responsibility for content accuracy

12.2 EMBEDDED CONTENT

If Users embed third-party content (images, videos, articles) in sessions or profiles:

- Users assume responsibility for licensing and permissions

- AskSome.One is not liable for embedded content

- Third-party copyright holders may contact AskSome.One to request removal

13. AI-GENERATED CONTENT AND COPYRIGHT

13.1 AI SUMMARIES

Session summaries generated by AskSome.One's AI are:

- Based on User-generated content (session transcripts)

- Licensed to Users under the license granted in Section 3.2

- Subject to the same copyright, privacy, and usage restrictions

13.2 TRAINING DATA

AI models may be trained on anonymized, de-identified User Content. By using AskSome.One:

- Users consent to AI training on their anonymized content

- Users understand this is necessary for platform improvement

- Data used for training will not identify the original User

13.3 COPYRIGHT IN AI OUTPUT

Copyright ownership of AI-generated summaries:

- AskSome.One retains copyright as an AI work created by AskSome.One

- Users have a license to use summaries (per Section 3.2)

- Users may not claim authorship of AI-generated content

14. COPYRIGHT AND FAIR USE

14.1 FAIR USE DOCTRINE

Fair use permits limited use of copyrighted material without permission in certain circumstances:

- Criticism and Comment: Quoted excerpts for review or critique

- Teaching and Scholarship: Limited quotes for educational purposes

- Parody: Parodying copyrighted works (not simply copying them)

14.2 FAIR USE ASSESSMENT

To determine if use qualifies as fair use, courts consider:

1. Purpose: Educational, critical, or commercial use

2. Amount Used: How much of the original is used

3. Nature: Type of copyrighted work

4. Market Effect: Whether use harms original's market value

14.3 ADVISERS AND FAIR USE

Advisers providing travel advice may reference:

- Publicly available government travel advisories (generally public domain)

- News articles about travel destinations (quotes with attribution)

- Government websites and resources (public domain)

But must NOT simply copy entire travel guides or articles.
